Day 14. We continue making our way….We have 850nm miles to go. I never thought I would consider 800 miles close to anything, but I do now! Our friends, Terry, Christine and Sinbad on sailboat Sedna left Galapagos 4.5 days ahead of us. We have been in radio contact with them each day during our passage. They are expected to arrive on Marqueses mid day today. They made very good time (18 days). We took a slightly different route, so we are hoping to arrive the middle of next week, which would put us ahead of our schedule as well. Hoping is the key word here. For me, this is a light at the end of the tunnel and it’s not a train!
All of this naturally depends on the winds and seas. We have had several storms the last 5 days and rougher seas. When I say storms, not to worry, just some rain, winds and bigger seas…..so much for the calm Pacific. The winds have not been in our favor so we have been motoring a bit the last few days. We need some winds out of the southeast so we can save some fuel. I personally will be glad to get back to land. All for now….Love to all…
